Please note!

We had some crashes, but it should be better now.

Also, FloorFish works and the Fillets can be opened as send effects.

However, as these are some of the first mach-o VST plugins ("OS X native VST", see below) going public and could only be tested with Cubase SX 1.04 on MacOS X 10.2, there can be more problems.

Despite these annoying issues we consider it okay to bring these dishes to your plate of choice and hope you like how they taste.

Enjoy (hopefully),

A brief note on "native" VST (mach-o) vs. "carbonized" VST:

Most audioeditors/software on MacOS X that supports VST in fact only support "carbonized" VST currently. "Carbonized" VST is still a sort of backwards-compatibility format for MacOS9 users.

The FishFillets will currently not run in these applications.

"Native" VST is based on Mach-o, which is THE MacOS X flavour for applications. It is no more backwards compatible to classic MacOS. Currently only two audio applications are known to support mach-o VST: Cubase SX and Sagantech's Metro6 (www.sagantech.biz).

Apple may somewhen (rumor is 2005) drop support for "carbonized", hence all other audio applications will support "mach-o" within not so far future. In fact, some applications like Ableton Live 2.0 are already mach-o, but have workarounds to support carbonized VST. They simply had no mach-o VST plugins to play around with. Now they have.

Quick installation notes:

Put the files ending with .vst into this folder:

~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
(only for you as user)

or

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
(for every user, but you must have admin-rights to put them there)

When you start Cubase SX or Metro6, they should appear in you VST Effect Window(s)
